Description
This is a course to introduce the principle of the R&D process of genetic tests in the changing paradigm of precision medicine and the accompanying social and policy implications surrounding genetic testing.
More introduction
After completion of this course, the students will have a comprehensive understanding of genetic testing, genetic counselling, and the policy and social issues related to it. The students will be given opportunities to work in small groups for case studies to reflect real-world scenarios in the development of genetic tests.
Course requirements:
Essay writing: 30%
Case study presentation: 40%; Students will be allocated in one group for one case study (determined by ballot). EVERYONE will present.
Attendance and in-class participation: 30%
